Exclamation Clutch problems

I know this in an RX7 specific forum, but the registration for mx6.com isn't working and the webmaster address is invalid, so I thought I'd ask my question here.

I just bought a 1994 MX6, 6cyl. 5spd manual. Driving it home it was great, shifted smoothly, handled well, breaks are great, etc. etc. etc. Last night, halfway home from the store (about 2 hours after I bought it), it started refusing to shift into 2nd, 4th, or Reverse. I can drive it going from 1st, to 3rd, then 5th, but not being able to backup presents an interresting issue when trying to leave the parking deck at work...

There is no grinding noise when I try to shift to 2/4/R, it just refuses to go in. I checked all the fluid levels and the only thing that was low was the engine oil, by half a quart. I took it back to the dealer I bought it from this afternoon and they are more than happy to investigate/fix the problem...on Monday. Apperantly they have no weekend mechanic.

Has anyone had this problem (or something similar) before with their clutch, and if so, what do you suggest I try to do besides wait until Monday. I work on the weekends and I'd rather not break it even more by only using half the gears to drive 40 miles to work.

Thanks

There wont be a quick fix for that....but it sound like the problem I had when my tranny went. Although there were signs of the tranny going (like grinding or gears getting harder to get into) before it went. I dont think its ur clutch because when mine went the car would go into gear it just wouldnt engage or move. U will probably have to wait for the dealer.
