clutch problem

ok, i have replaced my clutch twice in my life, and on the third time the other day, i had to do it again, so i went to it. after getting it together, i had to buy a rebuild kit for my slave cyl, i hooked it up, i noticed it was stiff, and that the clutch fork had a lot of pressure on it, even before i had bleed the slave cyl.

so anyway, i bleed the slave cyl. and i had a good feeling clutch pedal. so i cranked it up, and the car will not go anywhere, like the clutch and the flywheel are not even meeting up, no clutch smell or power or anything. i got up in under the car, while it was off of course, and i got my bud to push the clutch pedal in, and it was pulling the pressure plate back, good, via the wedge collar and wire ring, so whats wrong here? when the clutch pedal is not being pressed, should there be some play in the clutch fork? cause in this situation mine has a LOT of pressure on it still, is my pressure plate being pulled back, even thought the clutch pedal is not being pressed?

thanks

Can you actually put the car into gear or will it not go into gear at all?

goes into gear fine, the tranny would go into gear easy when it was laying out of the car, is that normal? bc it feels just like it did when i put it into gear, when it was outside of that car

Did you rebuild the slave cyl? Possibly there is no free play in the clutch and it always has the clutch somewhat disengaged. There is an adjustment on the clutch arm that controls how long the rod that presses in the Clutch cyl is. Might try shortening that rod.

yeah i tried shortening that, i guess i could back it off some more, and re bleed the system, but that push rod on the end of my clutch pedal is now, lose, with no pressure on it, when the clutch is not being pressed, so i dont see how that could be putting any pressure on the the clutch fork, via the slave cy.

thanks keep it coming
