Clutch Pedal Causes Airbag and Brake Warning Lights
My car just developed three separate issues simultaneously. First i drove it to work and it wouldn't crank. I noticed smoke coming from the ignition column when i tried to crank. I took off the column cover and nothing was burnt. Let it sit, tried a few more times. Got it to start drove home. Earlier that day i noticed Brake Warning light staying on and my Air Bag Warning light coming on randomly. I figured out with clutch pedal out the Brake Warning light stays on. Once i push the clutch pedal in Air Bag light stays on and Brake Warning light goes off. The car had shoddy ignition wiring from a Turbo Timer install. Fixed that and the car cranks every time now but i'm still getting crazy warning lights and something in the ignition is still giving out electrical smoke when it cranks. Brake Fluid is full. I have never seen or heard of crazy problems like this... I am going to try and borrow a known good cpu #2 but i'm not sure if that is actually the problem.

Check your alternator voltage. I think it is 14.1 to 14.6 or .7. If you have a bad diode/s it will start the illuminating the lights but you should also get the coolant low light and low oil warning too. You really need to get that short fixed though.
