Clutch Job

Hey, working on removing/installing a clutch into my FD. So far so good, nothing is crazy stuck or broken yet (knock on wood). Anyways following the guide fro fd3s and what is a "power plant frame" I have not heard this term before.

On a side note, running the car without the waste-gate exhaust line, any change in sound? Bad thing for your car, or just w/e. Anyone do it?(just curious on a side note) Thanks

Hey alright, PPF came off nice, next little issue. Someone please help.
*taken from fd3s.net*
"# Remove the two inspection plate/service covers from the tranny. One is immediately obvious, it has the "Warning - this is a pull-type clutch" sign on it. The other is on the side of the tranny, to the left of the hole where the slave cylinder used to be.

# Separate the clutch cover from the throw-out bearing [release collar].

* With one hand, pull the release fork toward the back of the car (through the upper-left service hole). It should stay there.
* The collar should be seated all the way inside the pressure plate. Pry them apart with your big-*** screwdriver.
* The collar will snap right out. See the illustration below, as the only trick is getting the screwdriver in EXACTLY the right place.
* If this doesn't work, you have to unbolt the pressure plate from the flywheel through the lower service hole. This is a pain in the ***. You have to do it criss-cross, which means slowly rotating the pressure plate back and forth, etc. "

Having issues with the pulling of the release fork.....

If you look with a light there is a little silver ring connected to the clutch release bearing... You have to put the screw driver between the snap ring( silver thing coming from the clutch) and the bearing and try to seperate the two... Its really hard and frustrating the first time you try to do this but after you do it once youll feel like a retard for fighting with it for so long. If your at this part though and you already removed the PPF then its easy sailing after.

Thanks, I'll give it a go. The PPF wasn't all that hard imo. We figure that the flywheel may cause issues, 350 torqued... hmmm air-gun here I come...may need to buy a flywheel holder too :P
