What type of clear coat do you use on polished parts, ex. Upper intake maifold, Throttle body, Alternator.

Clear coat yellows with high engine temps. Polish & wax the parts if possible. Use a polishing product afterwards to keep it clean.

I thought someone used some sort of high temp clear coat of some sort. I guess polish would be fine. Just a pain to keep clean.

nope Dougie_fresh_007 is right.. If you did a decent job polishing you have no hope of getting the clear to stick... go find a shop that powder coats stuff in your area, and have them coat it with clear... This is what I have done with my wheels...

The absolute best thing is to have the parts ceramic coated. It ends up looking like chrome after they run it through the polisher. It also help prevent heat soak. Very durable and looks great!

Tremclead has a clear coat specific to bare metals, its a white can with "clear" written in pink.

Didn't turn yellow on me..... I'm very happy with it.

P.S. those runners were done 5 yrs ago, they were used on my last car.
