Cleaned rust off my rotor... are they ok? *pics*

I had quite a bit of rust on my rear rotor... pic below. (93fd)

I went ahead and cleaned it up (altho there is still a bit here and there in
the grooves... just tiny dots (shown in pic 5 and 6)... I need to cover them
up w/ WD40 and scrape it in the grooves). After cleaning it up I have
noticed that the rust eat away some of the metal. It's not that bad and they
are just pits... no raised areas.... I get really worried about is at the
one apex seal tho... the edge is rough (showed in pic 7).

Now... doesn't the rotor kinda float in there (so to speak) via all the
seals? or are these pits going to hurt me and I need a new rotor? Here are
some pics below of my rear rotor... there are smaller and bigger versions.

Also... here is a pic of my front rotor... you'll notice the corner is kinda
missing a tiny bit... it is still flush and the seals fit in fine... just
want an opinion if this is ok?

holy crappoly, thats a nice job on taking off the rust man! in anycase, i think you'll be fine, your right when you say the rotor does kinda float in there with the seals pretty much making compression. How are the housings?

I have brand new housings waiting and ready to go.... the side and intermiadaite housing is just fine. Their all cleaned up (even acid bathed) and got a intake and exhaust port for those ready to go too...

I used a grinder with rather stiff wire wheel on it to clean the rotors I have layin around for show, that worked great and it didnt damage them at all, if your looking to get them really clean thats what I would recommend...

I had some words of wisdom from a buddy of mine once when I was debating on whether or not to use a rotor with some pitting in the face -

"Doesn't matter. It will be filled in with carbon in about a week".

If you've ever done like me and spend a whole day scrubbing baked-on carbon off of rotors and engine parts, you know what I mean .

Also, I doubt you're planning on putting together a 100,000 mile plus engine - the only way you're gonna get it that good is all new rotors and the like.

Run that sucker. You'll be fine.

Dale

You really got into it didn't you
They looked very clean, and if you are really worry about the rough edge in pic7, you could get it slotted to take 3mm seals.
