New gauges from Autometer. Very cool!
http://hp.autometer.com/products/nexus/index.html I will get some pricing. Jason |
Hopefully they can beat Defi's prices.
those are preety nice...yeah but judging the way they look and their function it will probably be more expensive
mm not as nice as defi i think...defi just has a certain feel and look at them..when u spend 1800 on guages u know what i mean
i will be getting defi again |
Those are pretty neat, hopefully they wont be too much.
bad ass. I like how the whole guage can go red if its above the set point. :bigthumb:
Very nice, they should be cheaper than Defi too
Jason saw ur old car, my next door neighbour got it, Kalvin, very nice job man... il be getting in touch with u for the 500hp upgrade the second i pick my fd up this month... and let me know if u find prices out for those gauges... thanks
Wow..gauges look awesome...kinda regret buying my defi bf series now..oh well, it's too late....Are they 52mm or 60mm?
Those look very nice. I'd rather have those than my Greddy Boost gauge. Nice gauge, but having to convert it to psi from bars is a pain.
they look very nice, I wonder how much they will run
The functionality of those looks awesome, but the dial graphics are as boring as the rest of their lines.
A remote control to adjsust colors? why? I thought a remote for your car cd player was bad....
That's pretty awesome, glad to see autometer is trying to keep up with some of the other gauge manufactures. Let me know when you get pricing.
yeah, i think they are really cool.
keep us updated on the prices |
gauges look great! a lot of cool functions. I like the full illumination for a warning, but these things will probably be expensive!!! they have a remote for crying out loud!
Sounds like Autometer is trying to break into the higher end of the gauge market. I'd be interested to see the pricing, but I'd also be interested to see REAL pics of the gauges and hardware. Hopefully they've figured out how to build weathertight quality harnesses and senders, instead of the hardware store crap they currently use.
But, I'm glad they're moving in a new direction. Dale |
Memmory card for computer dataloging, that's pretty tight. Nice tease but what's the price?
I wonder if you can run two EGT gauges with this? That's the big draw back with the Defi BF series for me.
Asked my buddy Google about the new gauges :). One of the guys on Honda-Tech e-mailed Autometer about them, and got this response:
Dear Sir, The Nexus gauge series is currently scheduled for a January release. As we get closer to then, the release date will become more firm. Please feel free to check back with me via email for updates. As for pricing, the individual gauges with senders will sell for approximately $199-249.00 each. The Sensor Module and Remote is sold as a kit for approximately $199. This is required for Nexus gauge operation. The initial lineup is for the following 7 gauges: 6455: Water Temp (100-260) 6459: Boost/Vac (30 In. Hg. / 30 PSI) 6445: EGT (0-2,000) 6453: Oil Pressure (0-100 PSI) 6456: Oil Temperature (140-300) 6474: Nitrous Pressure (0-1600) 6463: Fuel Pressure (100 PSI) 6400: Sensor Module + Remote Control We have tentative plans to offer additional instruments, but these will be finalized and announced in the coming months. The first of which will likely be a tachometer to be available in the early Spring of 2005. Sincerely, Marc Erickson The pricing is VERY much in Defi's territory. With Autometer's track record, I'd be surprised if they could compare with the quality of Defi's product right out of the box. Of course, this is retail pricing, with street pricing lower. Dale |

Sure the cheap-ass Autometer mechanical gauges suck. If you pay $50 for a gauge, it's not going to be top of the line. I suspect that these are probably made for Autometer by another manufacturer, but even so, I wouldn't be surprised if the accuracy was on par with Defi. |

They wouldn't still be in business if they didn't make decent gauges. Judging all of them by the performance of their budget line is pretty lame. Have you even owned an Autometer gauge?
Personally, I think they got a bad rep in the RX-7 community solely because their budget mechanical boost gauge was sometimes off by a pound or so... after people ran 6 or 7 feet of tiny vacuum line into the cabin. |
