checking turbos without rolling

is it possible to see if both turbos get on if you can't move the car?

i know it is a pretty stupid question but i though i would try.

Lately, i was in the mood for asking hard weird question so if anyone has a weird answer for me

Oh yeah and i don't have a dyno in my garage, sorry...

I can't move it because it is winter here in Canada and you know in that country, winter isn't FD friendly... I just did the hose job and want to see if it works properly.

thanks a lot

I don't believe so. The car will only allow about 4 PSI without any load on the engine (i.e. revving in neutral).

what happens if you jack up the 2 back wheels and drive? I know your spedo readings would be rediculously high because of no drag or friction but the car should still boost the same right? I don't reccomend trying this especially with the garage door closed haha. You may make a custom rx7 hole in it hahaha.

Nope, as Mahjik said, with no load on the engine you won't make full boost.

You could strap it to a dyno.

If you remove the y-pipe and rev the motor you can feel if the second turbo comes online. You need to rev the motor pretty high which is not a real good idea when the motor is not under a load, but it worked for me.

ok and about how high do i need to rev up?

what if i push the brakes when the rear wheels are up? OK, not to good for the brakes but...

or i could ask my little sister to try to stop the wheel, it would create some sort of load ...

no you can't, the valves work off of the pressure built from the first turbo....

how can you engage those if you're not pressurizing? you'll feel risidual air from the turbo spooling, but you won't be able to tell anything
