VERY nice car, BUT...

430+HP on stock motor and stock twins?? 430 FWHP translates into approx 370 RWHP. I'm thinking a bit of exaggeration, or Dyslexia. 340+HP would be a more reasonable #.

Or you can buy the book "The development of the Rx-7" by Jack Yamaguchi..... for $20

That's where all that neat-o info came from. (they just scanned the book)

On a side and more random note, why in gods name do people insert dumb javascript so you can't right click on pictures? Do they think that actually stops people from taking the images?

Best part is the 329 hp dyno chart at the bottom of the ad . Not to mention they need to use the damn flash - you can BARELY see the interior or engine bay!

But, it is definitely a damn nice car. Much is to be said for a car that's tastefully modified and well taken care of.

I quit reading when I got to "an engine design that weighs hundreds of pounds less than a comparable piston motor". Yep; that guy is definitely a member here.

I snarfed & tarballed all the Mazda stuff (the articles, brochure scans, etc). It's available here:

Unlike most of the rabid rotor fans I don't believe just because Mazda said it, it was on tv or some Japanese guy insists it to be so makes it true.

Guys are stuffing v-8's with 2 or 3 times more displacement in the RX-7 and they weigh only slightly more than they did originally!
