Charging Transmission input and output seals
I bought manual transmission input and output seals from Mazdatrix
Input 17-1030-H501
Output 17-335A-R501
The transmission is out at the moment. Does anyone have any tips for fitting these. The inside of the bell housing is currently caked with oil and grit which I am in the process of cleaning. I'm not sure if the yoke the front seal goes into should be removed and re silicon ed? I would prefer to have no leaks once this is all done and dusted.

the rear seal is pretty easy, pry the old one out, pop new one in, apply a little grease (or smear the grease Mazda put on it) and you're done.
the front is similar, but since you're in there, the R boxes like to seep around where the bellhousing meets the case, so i usually reseal that (it takes silicon). there is no sealant that goes on the thing the throw out bearing slides on, but it wouldn't hurt anything if there was.

Thanks for the tips. In the end we removed the 4bolt throwout slider and found no evidence of leakage so we decided to leave it be other then a good wash in the parts washer. The output seal was also left alone because it is possible to do with the transmission in the car.
