Question Charge Control Actuator Question

I'm trying to see if my CCA is funtioning correctly. When the car idles and I look at the rod on CCA it is pulled in meaning the valve is only getting air from the primary but when I shut the car off the rod pulls out and the valve opens. Is this suppose to happen when you shut off the car or should the rod pull out only when you pull the vacum hose off the chamber?

I *think* this is normal, i.e. the rod should be out when the car is off, even with the hose attached.

Well, according to
http://www.autosportracetech.com/RX-...leshooting.htm
The rod should only be pulled out if you remove the hose from chamber "A" (side opposite the actuator rod)

So if it pulls out immediately upon turning off the engine, I would assume it is not functioning correctly.

I think when you turn the key on and the tank has vacuum the rod pulls in ,key off the rod goes out ,,key on rod in. The tank should hold enough to do this about 6 times . That is how you test the vacuum, if I remember what Garfinkle told me correctly . I hope that helps,

Yes, according to the 911GT1's site, that is one of the ways you you check the vacuum chamber. The KOKO (key on/key off) 6 times should move both the charge control and turbo control actuator rods.

In my case the the key on sequence does NOT pull the charge control actuator rod in, so I'm looking into replacing the vacuum chamber...anyone know what is invovled in that?
