Question Changing UIM, LIM, & TB; look what I found; Need help

While changing out the above parts, I found what was causing oil to leak down the drivers side of the engine. I have search the Manual, and the Forum...Could somebody please chime me in on what needs to be there. Also I found faulty air bleed sockets on my Secondary injectors.

Garrick did you post this same picture under a different screen name ? ? ? I'm going to take a good look at my car and see if I can help you out. The other picture was so fuzzy I could tell what it was. L8R, Jack

Jack,

The other picture is what my air bleed sockets looked like when I took them out. Yea I posted this on another members Thread. He sais he was having a oil leak around the filler neck. I will get the parts out to you next week. My Magnecor spark plug wire was split down the middle, so I had to send it out and have it fixed. I just got it back today, and thats when I went to work changing things out.

No problems Garrick, get her fixed and running. I took a look at my car and can't get as clear a view at where your picture was taken. I'll pop off the elbow and get back to you ASAP.

gcbutter,

There's not much around that area for the cause of an oil leak. The only things I can think of off hand would be either the connection to the oil filler neck (should be an o-ring there) or maybe the PCV line/vent line connections on the oil filler neck leaking some oil.

The oil filler neck O-ring wasn't even there. I'm getting one of those on Tuesday. Thats what i figured my iol leak was from. The hole just behind it, was open and I have no idea what it is there for. I put my finger in there and it came out covered in oil. So now I'm trying to figure out what it's there for, and can I cover it/block off.

Sorry for not getting back to you ASAP. I looked all over my motor and it looks just like yours, I can't see where anything is missing and oil leaks in this area, you may be getting some oil blowing out of the dipstick > >>> ? ? ? ? When's the last ime you changed the PVC valve ??

gcbutter,

There really isn't anything there (if you are talking about that little open area next to the oil filler neck). Here's a shot I had of my engine:

Oil might have pooled in that little "cup", but it shouldn't be open to the internals of the side housing. Stick your finger in it again and you should feel the bottom of that "cup".
