Changing rear speakers. Just pop the grill out ?
Hi,
I am planning on putting in new back speakers . Does anyone know if I have to take the whole plastic panel off or just use a small screwdriver and just pop out the speaker grill cover ? Thanks.

Are you ******* kidding me?????
If you are going to replace the mounting panel that the speaker rests in then you will need to take that whole entire god-forsaken panel off. But if you are just replacing the speaker with a proper sized replacement then NO, you do not have to take that panel off.
I just popped mine off to check, it pops off from the TOP, just use a small screwdriver. Do NOT pry from the bottom, you will break off the tabs.
Holy crap, hopefully no one else has to go through what Max did.

Fitzrx7 You're right !!! I just went to my garage to see if it works. It took me total 3 seconds to pop that grill off. Man I was gonna take that whole quarter panel off. Thanks for the good info.

I found it easier to remove the whole panel which takes all of 1 minute to do, but to each his own. Just be careful of those clips that hold the grille. With the panel out, I also put in some sound insulation/deadner (Roadkill), which seemed to improve the sound and volumn with my OEM setup.

If you say so man, to each his own.
I can put in a transmission in less than 2 hours, which I think is pretty quick, but getting that panel OFF in less than 5 minutes would be impressive.
The only thing about popping off the grill is it takes a little bit of maneuvering to get to one of the screws.

IIRC, remove center divider, snap off the cover for the shock tower, pop up the back of the sill plate and pull back the rubber door seal, pull off three small clips with your fingers and one metal screw. Yeah, about 1 minute unless your smokin I just felt this was easier in the long run than doing that "maneuvering" and wanted to add the Roadkill.
LOL, and I'm not "******* kidding" you.
