Changing cluster lenses?

Whats up guys. I just bought a cluster for my 3rd gen and as many of you may know the chrome that surrounds the guages is starting to turn black and is pitting. I know Atkins Rotary have replacment lenses to solve this problem. Question is...... How in the world do i change these out. I see they are put on by melting the plastics together. DOes anybody have any idea on how to take them out and install the new ones?

The rings are like you said just melted on certain points. You can just yank the old ones off, and glue the new ones back on with crazy glue or something similar. The clear lens will have a small notches or nipples left on the mounting points so you angle them correctly.

Just order a new lens cover with chrome rings from Malloy, I think they are $85 or so. It is held on by two gold screws and some notches, takes 2 minutes to swap out.

Please don't mind my parents amazing table cloth...lol

Disassemble the cluster by unclipping the tabs that hold the cluster together (see arrows in attached photo). The cluster will then come apart as three pieces: the lenses, the shroud, and the housing.
