F that dude. I'd stick with RHD, just for the sake of seeing peoples faces when I pulled up next to them. Even if it meant working a second or even third job. For a real deal Lancer Evo 4 it would be worth it.
if anyone wants to see the car I have 2 photos of it from HIN Philly. PM me and let me know how to post them up here, or I'll send them to you and you can post them.

That dude would work 2-3 extra jobs just to have a RHD car to impress people with. Afterall, it's JDM right?

I recently picked up a 1994 Efini RX-7. It has around 43,000 miles and is RHD. It is not very diffucult, It's all about who you know. I live in Las Vegas, and have already taken my car to the DMV and is also already insured. There is nothing difficult about this. If you want to see some pics or have questions about getting a RHD ride email me.

When theres a will, there is a way. Its not always the rigyh way, but its a way. My best friend, Ariel, was in love with the EVO V, he didn't want the 8 which came here to the states, he wanted to 5. He dd his research and found that it could not be legally imported and driven as a street car. He imported it anyway, made the right connections with people and when it came, he showed that it was purely a race car by claiming all the events and showing events he had registered in. Paperwork and money talks. Then when he got it here, he put it in a wearhouse and we started working on it, we took it apart almost completely (By the way, the evo 5 is a beautiful car) we wanted to know as much as we could about the car, the car that resembled it the most is the mitsubishi mirage. So we went to the junkyard, bought a wrecked mirage ($500) with a salvaged title and just transfered the engine plates and windhield plates to the Lancer Evo. He got his insurance, there are no emissions here in FL, he paid fo his tag, for the rest of the world, he is driving a 4dr Mitsubishi MIrage with a really nice body kit, a turbo and some sort of conversion for the steering wheel to be on the right. We drive to school everyday together, an FD and an Evo. He is proud and well he should be, he ended up spending about 16k but considering that the car alone cost him 13.5k with shipping and all, I think that he did pretty good. If he can do that with a car that was never here, then you can definitely do it with an fd, and I know tons of wrecked fds. Its all about how bad you want it, He wasn't doing it to save money, he was doing it because he loved the car and wanted to be different. My point is my opening sentenc,e if theres a will, theres a way. Good Luck.

lol, gotta love how people start playing the man card. way to be "cool" rx7club. i smell jelousy. it's always the same, since most people are too retarded to figure out how to do it, it either can't be done, or "omg you broke a law!!!".
by the time u get that car over here in the US and change everything to US standards going through all that trouble might as well buy one in the states. Not worth all the trouble and hassle, I guarentee that more things will occur when u actually go to the DMV. Do you actually feel comfortable buying something without looking at it in person? Cuz I sure dont and I dont many either, be wise about it.

No one said it couldn't be done. But the odds of doing it LEGALLY are stacked against you.
Currently, RHD JDM RX-7s are not LEGALLY allowed to be driven in the US. And if someone is willing to take up the costs to begin legalizing RHD RX-7s, can do so.
But after all of the legalization work. The costs of a US STREET LEGAL RHD RX-7 would be quite high. That translates to an extremely high selling price. And that would deter a lot of actual buyers.
Believe what you want. I don't care if you "smell jealousy". In this link, I included links to various importation requirements.

At least I am able to back up what I'm talking about. What is the basis for your argument?

...I don't know about the others on this forum, but I'm not really all that concerned with being considered "cool". I guess if I was, I'd be "working three jobs" just so that I could go through all that hassle in order to have the "ultimate privilege and coolness" of being able to drive a RHD car in the U.S. Like Dom states, we never said it can't be done. All we're asking is, "Why?"
honestly if i was gunna get a car from japan i would try and get the 2002 spirit r due to the power plus i know its practically brand new. at least in the states on a car that year you might even be able to get a warentee.........and i wouldnt buy a car till i inspected it myself i dont like judging books by there covers if you know what i mean. what ever floats your boat!

I say, go for it. Research and step up with the money.
-Kento - Not what i meant by cool. Everytime the issue comes up there are the people saying "you can't, it's illegal!". So? Most all of us know it's illegal, so shut up about it. If the legal risks bother YOU then YOU don't do it. It's simple.
bleh..why ask why..why do we have car shows? why do pple do wheelies? personally, i like things that are rare or original, dont ask why. cause i dont even think i can answer that.
Rhd drive cars are not illegal in the US however in order for you to drive one on the road you must present crash test data for that specific car. You no longer have to do this for a skyline GT-R or GTS-T because MotoRex has already presented the results to the DOT numerous times. The reason you pay through the *** for the modifications done to the skyline is due to the millions the they invested in analyzing the crash test data as weel as performing the crashes at a DOT certified site. Each crash test costs $50,000. Not cheap now is it. Also, MotoRex is on a tight schedule as well, due to some stupid rule that only permits them to have the car in the country for a maximum of 4 months to perform all of the necessary changes to the Skyline needed to make it "street legal". Because MotoRex is located in SoCal they have some of the most strict EPA rules for emissions; so all skylines must conform to the stringent rules and regulations of California. copyNpaste. so whos gona be the 7goddess to open that gates for the FD
for some reason i dont see the 7 next ont he list..altho i do see the silvia..

Sucks the US is so tight with importing, looks a lot easier in the UK http://mymazdarotary.com/mazda_rotar...b-s_photos.htm
