Ceramic coating M2 intake/IC pipes
Hey guys,
Is there any benefits to Ceramic coating my M2 polished
intake pipes? Should I do the IC ones as well?
Do I only do the insides because of the polished outsides?
Would I actually see a HP Difference?
Thanks for the replies. jc.

Honestly, you're talking about minimal gains vs. a good deal of money. If you're racing, and 1-2hp makes the difference, it's worth it. For most others, you're money is best spent elsewhere.

I would think he might lose power. The reason is that ceramic coating insulates. Aluminum dissapates heat. I would rather lose heat from the compressed air coming from the turbos than insulate it as it goes to the intercooler. Thats the whole point of the intercooler. Dissapate the heat. Thats why its aluminum. I think you would lose power due to the temps staying higher as they reached the intercooler. As for exhaust thats a different story. Hot exhaust gases flow much faster than cool gases so insulating the exhaust is beneficial.

I had planned on doing the same
I think it's a great idea! I just haven't gotten around to it yet and it's not that expensive.
I will be Jet Hot coating the Blitz filter adapters, heat shield and M2 pipes from the filters to the turbos , down pipe and also the Efini Y pipe. Oh and Vitek sleeving on the rubber hoses.
Even with those so called cold air intakes, the air in the rubber or metal intake pipes will heat up on the way to the turbo.
