Sorry guys for starting another post (refer to https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-specific-1993-2002-16/exhaust-installation-difficulty-425772/) but I'm in the middle replacing my current cat-back and found a vial with stuff written in Japanese. It said to refer to the instructions for proper use but this vial isn't referenced in the English instructions. Anyone have an idea what it's for. Smells like metal polish and it's a white paste. Did any of you guys have to use a gasket sealer?

That may be white greese (sp), it may be for the bolts and nuts. They'll go on and off easier for the next time if you ever have to take it off.

If your catback is S/S...I would say it's polish.

 

The muffler/cannister is a polised SS. It's also sealed.

 

The Canuck was right! It was metal polish. Thanks for the clue.
