Cat-back or High flow Cat gives more power?

I am going to upgrade both of these in the future...should I do the CB or high flow cat first? Which would give me the most power gain.

I would assume the high flow cat will be more beneficial because the Cat is really restrictive....right?

Thoughts?

i would much rather get a midpipe than high flow cat or catback...

it wouldnt really matter which you upgraded to i think.. your power gains would be rather minimal.. maybe a little more with the high flow cat... catback would surely make your car sound more aggresive though.

Most catbacks will get you 10-15 rwhp. A high-flow cat will get you anywhere from 6-15 rwhp. I'd go for the catback personally - better sound and looks.

The stock cat actually flows pretty well. However, depending on the age of the cat, it could be clogging or having problems. In a situation like that, you would get more of a benefit from getting the hi-flo cat first before the catback.

If you are eventually going to get a midpipe, then I would say get the catback. IMO, you should just wait and do them both at the same time when you have the money... But if you have to do one first, I would say the hi-flo cat.

Check this thread:

You'll have to deal with the possible boost creep with a midpipe (that and it's illegal in MO).
