Car won't start after ecu, midpipe and downpipe install

My 94 R2 was running great till I decided to put a new downpipe, midpipe, and a type-b REDOM ecu. I got the ECU off ebay from Japan and they said it was for a lightly modded rx-7. Now, the car won't start, it just sputters and dies. Any ideas?

Normal ECU? I was under the impression that with these mods, the stock ECU is not recommended.

Switch it back to see if the car will run, the stock ecu cant handle the boost, dosent mean you cant just start the car with the stock ecu and mods to see if that aftermarket ecu is the problem?

I tried the stock ECU, and the car ran real rough, backfired and sputtered a lot. Could it be the new bosch 02 sensor? Should I switch back to stock?

Did you make sure that you have the ecu grounded? If not the car will not start.

I did reset the ECU (disconnected neg on battery, tapped brake light) and it was properly grounded using the factory mounting ground (I assume you are referring to the 2 ground wires that connect to the ecu mounting brackets) Really strange problem...

Update: I installed the original 02 sensor and got the car to start with the new ecu. However, it's idling at 2800 rpm and the check engine light is on. You also really have to crank it to get it to start.

Does anyone know... is it possible to set the timing on the car manually to coinside with the timing for the aftermarket ecu? In other words, is it possible to adjust the car timing for the new ecu? I think the issue is a timing one. (the new ecu is way off!)

no, it is set by the ecu...unless you fab some brackets to move the crank angle sensors to trick the computer....which is not a good idea. Check your check engin light codes <----- do a search to find out how to do.
