Car turns on an dies after alternator swap
Hi Folks,
Did an alternator swap because the original alternator on the car kicked the bucket.
After completing the swap and buttoning it back up, the car turns on and immediately dies. Car sounds very strong for a very brief moment and then revs drop and car turns off as if it's losing fuel pressure or the fuel pump is being cut.
Any ideas what could cause this? Seems like something is causing the ECU to cut the fuel pump as throttle does nothing to keep the car alive.
During the uninstall of the alternator this sensor with green plug on the back of the air pump decided to snap clean off. Could this be the culprit?
Alternator and belt swap is a fairly straightforward process so I don't see anything else that could cause the car to completely refuse to stay on.

^Yep, you'll have big problems if the coolant temp sensor isn't connected. It's a primary input for the ECU.
You can replace it by removing the alternator, you'll have enough room to get to it. Don't have to get carried away taking things apart.
