Car shuts off when trying to start

Okay I have a weird issue. When I try to start my car it doesn't start then I lose all power, no lights or anything. I disconnect battery and reconnect then it starts. Tia

Obviously you have a battery connection issue. Check power/ground to computer and trace it backward towards the battery. Something is loose or you have alot of resistance.

Yeah that's what I figured. I'm pretty sure it's one of my ecu connectors because its quite mangled. Could be a pin loose. Was able to get it home.

this recently happened to me. after troubleshooting, it turned out to be the connection from my ground cable to the chassis. an easy way to troubleshoot would be jump start the car with a spare battery and then to try with just the power cable and just the ground to figure out which is causing the problem.

I just find it odd how I have all power and right when I get to the on position it goes dead. Probably is a power issue. My power terminal on the battery has a big burnt mark on the top of it. I probably should improve grounds anyways.

i thought the same thing when it happened to me. it sounds like you've got a bad ground or a short somewhere. has your battery been relocated?
