Car problem. Please help.

Ok guys, I've posted about this problem before but it seems that it is not yet fixed.

Here is the whole story. As i was driving, the car refused to go into boost, and it was stumbling and backfiring. It was the MAP sensor which i changed with another used one. For a week the car was fine until early this week. Sometimes not always usually after some driving with boost it refuses to go into boost until i stop, pop the hood, knock on the MAP sensor. When i do this it's fine again. Sometimes it just boosts up to 5-7psi and refuses to go more but most of the times it refuses to go into boost. No doubt it's the MAP sensor. My question is why the car brakes the MAP sensors? We already checked the wiring and everything is fine. I also reset the ecu in case the car was entering limp mode. Any help?

Also another strange thing is that my check engine light does not come on when switch on the ignition. Even when i disconnected the plug from the MAP sensor while the car was switched on. It never did since i imported the car from Japan. Looks like someone disconnected it.
The car is running for a year now in my hands without any other probs. So why the hell he disconnected it?

Antonis.

My mechanic told me that it may be the ecu. Something is wrong in it and is sending high voltage to the MAP sensor and is braking it.

What do you guys think? I am about to order a PFC with a 3bar MAP sensor.

with this particular problem, with the map sensor actually breaking... i think you are the only one here which is having this problem. you might wanna swap the ecu with someone else and see if that helps

Well i want to swap ecus but you won't find many 99 spec FD's in Cyprus. That makes it kind of difficult
