car has a hesitation

I have be redoing my fuel system for the past week. Anyways I took the fuel pulsation dampener off and banjo fitting off the primary rail and did all SS line and an fittings. Everything looks real good no leaks no exotic bends turned out real nice. I went to start my car up and it idled really low, so I brought up the idle. I could only get it to idle at 1500. Its a half bridge so it original idle is around 1300rpm. Got it to idle at 1500rpm, but not great. I took the car for a drive has a bad hesitation 1st and 2nd gear. Get it up past 2500rpm it drives like a cadillac. It seems like the transition is off. Could it just be getting that much more fuel from the an fittings? I don't think so. Or could it be going real lean cause I cant get into no boost cause it backfires and has a hella hesitation at 1psi

If anyone can help I would appreciate it
