Can't hear BOV after shop f@#$ed up my car
I installed my HKS SSQV a few months ago. It was very loud. Then I blew a coolant hose and had my car towed to what I later found out was a questionable place, TECH3 (one of my friends said they messed up an air fuel ratio install on his GST Eclipse). They replaced the coolant hose ($80). When I was leaving my work that night I saw coolant leaking all over the parking lot so I had the car towed back to the shop at their expense and gave them a chance to fix it again.
They said another hose blew (hard to believe considering i only drove it lightly 10 miles). They replaced this hose and cleaned out the intake manifold since they had to remove it to get at the hose ($330). I got my car back it had idle problems and the BOV was significantly quieter. I called them and they said both were just a result of cleaning the manifold. Not trusting them I took the car to a place the tow truck guy recommended that specializes in RX7s, Mazda Masters. They said they used a non factory hose that pinched up, they did not reconnect the accelerated warmup system, the wires on the upper plenum solenoid got pinched, the idle speed control may have been damaged while they were cleaning the intake manifold. He said he would have a more complete list when he finished the job.
The mechanic still can't find an explanation for the BOV. I understand the BOV noise is directly related to how much boost I'm pushing. What I'm saying is that at the same boost it's much quieter.
Does anyone know what could be causing this? Any suggestions on what I should do about TECH3 (considering they'll offer to take a look at it and fix it, but I don't trust them anymore)?
One suggestion was if they don't cooperate with the refund, partial, or full, to call a consumer report news service to put the pressure on.
Thanks for your help
