I want to do the tail light conversion, but I can't get the tail light off.

I unscrewed the 3 screws for each light (L and R), removed the center 3rd brake light completely, but I can't pull out the the tail light units still! I tried pulling it from top, right side, left side but none has worked. There seems to be a few light bulb connecters or something that is holding it back. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

 

They slide directly sideways out away from the car. It's a bit scary the first time -- just give them some nice clean jerks sideways.
