Can I drive my 3rd gen Rx7 with out the air intake elbow off. What I am asking is will the car operate at minimum without the elbow mounted on. No boost or any filter hooked up.

 

It will run, but you run the risk of dust and other debris getting into your engine, and I know that's no good. It'd be like having a massive boost leak after your IC.

 

Can you do it, yes. Would it be a good idea, definitely not. Like Jammer said, you'd be running without filters, and that's not good for engines. You'd be better off sticking a knockoff filter in the end of the TB, just to keep rocks and leaves and things out.

 

You see I asked that question becuase I wanted to find out a problem Just pu my engine back together from a doing a single turbo mod and the the engine will not rev over 3000 rpms propery like when I goose the accelerator pedal it will pop and backfire and want to cut out. I can get it to 7000 rpms but I have to manipulate the accelerator (tap tap) to get it up there. I know for sure the secondary injectores are not coming on, what in the world is causing me not to rev smoothly or let the secondaries come on or operate?

 

Have you pulled your engine codes? A malfunctioning OMP will cause a problem like this.
