Can someone price this car for me...

I'm not completley sure on what RX-7s are worth so I need someones opinion. Anyways, there is a guy who lives behind my grandparents who has a 93 RX7, 23k miles, blue/tan, base, 5spd. He has had it for about 4 years and bought it wrecked with a salvage title. He fixed it and drove it 2 times and it has sat in his backyard ever since. The car is in great condition just needs a good clean up and 4 new tires. It hasn't been started in over 2 years so I know it probably needs a few mantience things done but nothing huge. Anyways...anyone care to tell me about what its worth. I've went over to his house a few times the first year he had it and tried to buy it but he said he didn't want to sale it, but I'm sure he will probably sale it now. I mean, it hasn't been moved for 2-3 years..

I would assume it needs a lot of work. salvage cars are not worth as much for good reason. They have been totaled some time in the past. I would do a car-fax for sure. I would not pay more than 8K. A check of the want adds will give you a good idea of what people are asking. In the end I would pass. Just remember these cars are troublesome and expensive to repair.

IMO, the price is greatly dependent on how bad the damage was and whether it was fixed 100% properly. With only 23k miles, it should be in very good condition overall. It doesn't take much to total one of these cars4

$8k-14k depending on the above.

I agree with ISUposs. A car with quality fixes, excellent body, excellent interior, and an engine which passes all the tests would be worth something in the teens. If there is any possibility of frame damage or residual issues, it may be worth much less.

Regardless of how well it has been restored a salvage title destroys the resale value. It isn't worth more than $12k and that is if everything is in perfect running condition.

I'd guess around 8-10k without seeing pictures, knowing why it was marked salvage, a compression test, boost check, etc, etc, etc so basically the 8-10k is a total SWAG.

Rotary's don't like to sit for too long... so this actually can be a "huge" fix. Worst case, you may need a new engine.

It's hard to say what it's worth without some pics or why it was salvaged... I'd guess at 10-15k depending on the quality of the repair job. This assumes that car is fully drivable, engine has good compression, etc...
