Can the o2 sensor cause the check engine light to come on?
Can the o2 sensor cause the check engine light to come on?
As I was driving this morning I noticed that my car was jumping a little more than usual at steady throttle before it warmed up. It has been slightly jumpy for a while, which as I understand is a sign that the o2 sensor is going.
Half way through my trip I noticed that my check engine light was on. Could this be caused by the o2 sensor?

Yep. My engine check light comes on because of the O2 sensor.
Check your error codes.
Connect the GND and the TEN (I believe?) in the DIAGNOSE box in your engine bay and turn your car to ON position and count the long and short flashes of the check engine light.
The error codes are somewhere online. Just do a search.

im having the same problem with my non turbo 87 rx7.
it doesnt idle steady. its always junping between 1000 and 1500 rpm. my check engine light doesnt come on, could my problem be a bad throttle sensor?
