Can I just unplug the electrical from my airpump?

Well, I have the apexi intake setup that came with my fmic and I cannot get rid of he damn mooing noise which comes from the airpump I thought about removing the air pump but im in CA and up for smog in FEB so I don't wan to get to carried away. Will just unplugging the electrical from the airpump to disable it hurt anything? Thanks

Yes, if you still have a main cat, then you'll cause some damage to it in the low rpm band when the air-pump is suppose to be active.

If you decide to unhook it for any length of time, don't plan on using it again. they lock up from the heat. my experience anyway.

So I guess unplugging it wouldn't be the best idea to get rid of that sound. I thought the apexi kit came with a silencer to so I un installed my kit then reinstalled it thinking I put in the wrong place but there is no silencer in m kit. Can someone post a pic of what it looks like? Thanks

The apexi intake should come with a small, silver, round plug with a hole through the middle of it. That is the silencer, I doubt they left it out. You either did not install it or installed it in the wrong hose.

*edit: Mine did not make any mooing noise what-so-ever and was installed correctly. I only used it for about 4k miles though so I don't know if it does it after a while or what.

Sorry to bring up a pretty stagnent thread but I really need one of the silencers mentioned in this post. I bought mine used so I dont have it. Paul, if you see this maybe when you sent it you left it out? If so PM me and let me know if I could get it from you.
Thanks Everyone,
Catlin
