CA Can this housing be repaired?

Last night me and my friend took out the motor.
I was all happy when I see the rear rotor housing still good.

And then we get to the front rotor housing and dmn =[

That tiny scar was due to the corner triangle piece of the apex seal floating around, cause when I took off the rotor, it was stuck between the rotor housing and the front iron housing.

Can this be fix by a machine shop, or do I need new rotor housing?

Thank you

How many thousands .000 deep is the damage? If its more than .029 ... a new housing or used usable condition one will be preferred

Hope that helps

it looks to me like it is junk unless you send it off to be resurfaced by someone like JHB.

Brought it to Yoshi at Neptune Speed today, due to where the damage is, it could be fix and use, however, he would prefer not to use it. So new rotor housing it is =[

No matter what you do that mark will still be there. Unfortunately if you can surely identify a mark it won't be able to be machined out. The good news is that it's not in a bad spot at all. I would personally run it in one of my motors...

If you want to send it to me I can refinish the inside of the housing. The housing will come back completely clean and ultrasonic cleaned ready to be used in your build. PM me if interested.

It'll serve as a good doorstop IMO..... I wouldn't use that in a build.

+1 I'd send the pictures to goopyperformance.com and see if they can resurface the housing.

Really appreciated all the inputs. Since it's my first rebuild and can't believe I drove only 1500 miles on the car since I've own it for almost a year. I have decided to go with new mazda housing, since I'm spending money to get the apex seal wpc treated.
