CA can anyone please tell me what the ignition module does?

Hello. The reason why I was wondering about the ignition module's function was because I'm doing an engine swap, where by I am dropping in the 13b-rew into my fc3s. I'm getting to the point where I can start it up, but before that, I would like to know as much as possible about the ignition module (especially since I'm missing this part). If anyone can give me info such as where its located, what it connects to, how critical it is for engine operation, ect. I would truly apreciate it.

Thanks.

First off, you may learn much if you read the Mazda FD service manual section F.

It is a high amp switching device. The ECU low voltage - low amperage timing pulses are used to switch the ignition coils off and on by the ignitor.
