Can Aeroquip -4AN be used as turbo coolant lines w/o Aeroquip fittings?
I'm trying to figure out a better solution for the turbo coolant lines than the Purosil 3/8 inch ID silicone lines or the OEM hoses.
The purosil 3/8 in. lines were installed 6 years ago w/o any problems. But I don't feel comfortable with them b/c the silicone lines are not reinforced. I'm going to take the Purosil lines out and inspect them once I get the reman.
In the meantime, a friend gave me these Aeroquip -4AN lines. They fit great onto the coolant pipes except that I don't think they were designed to be expanded over a retaining lip of a coolant pipe.
That is, they have a very thin layer of elastomeric rubber and then a braided reinforcement fabric outer cover. Has anyone used these -4AN lines like normal hose? Is there a failure point with the elastomeric if you used the -4AN lines this way?
