Thumbs up

Awesome thanks bud!!

But I also think an FD specific thread would be super cool to have as well..
Alot of these cars aren't even rx7s. I think this thread would be nice to have for people looking more for ideas or eyesex in FDs without the scrolling searching for them in that thread. (which really is pretty damn cool by the way.....AMAZING fabrication being done by average joes these days. Damn cool.)

At any rate- I am doing one in about a month when I am home from work and will post a few pics of my own.

Thanks again for the link though. It was helpful!! like I said, just starting one FD specific

Some people have "weekend warrior" cars...

Dual function: grocery-getter & (non-competitive) track car!

A full roll cage on a street car is a bad idea yes...Unless you want to be a vegetable after whacking your head on one of the halo bars.
A roll bar which is rear of the seats (ex:kirk racing bar) is not an issue, unless somehow your seat flexes enough in the event of an accident and you hit your head on the main hoop.
I'd be more concerned with someone using 5 or 6 point race harnesses in a car without a roll bar/cage. If somehow you manage to roll an Rx-7 while snugly strapped into your race harnesses, you'll find your head is now the roll bar

Now that I think about it, I think gracer is just saying it is a fail to have a cage in your car if it does not see any track time. Just for the look I guess.

It's a Kirk roll bar....

And just to clear things up.... YES I track my car on the regular... It runs lower than a 12 sec 1/4 time so helmet and cage is mandated...Also starting to do track sessions at Homestead Speedway....Next month is the 1st event on their road coarse so I'm good to go...

lol sorry came with the car, couldn't tell you where to get one but helper springs probably work as well

I do a lot of time attack competitions so the roll bar was for extra safety. I think a full cage in a street car is probably not a great idea either but a roll bar is something else.

in case anyone wants a cheap DIY camera mount and has access to a welder, this was done with a $2 exhaust clamp and some scrap metal lying around the garage
