Calling Series 8 Guru's

Hi Guys,

I know this is a question that can easily be answered for those of you that own series 6's... but this is the question... will my series 8 boost creep with a full exhaust (Dump, Mid and cat back)... since the car is a little different from a Ser 6 an RX7 specialist in Australia cant tell me if it will.. he said to me that the series 6 will but he is unsure about the series 8...he said it might not due to improvements made to the car but he cant tell me for sure...Does anyone of the other 12,000 Series 8 owners know?

Anyone?

Thanks

I'm pretty sure that the wastegate in the turbos is the same, so yes---you'll most likely get boost creep.

Hey,

But they changed the turbos, would they have upgraded the wastegates?

My experience was that bthe boost creeped without the PFC on it. Because I was aware that this may happen I was careful and only went WOT once or twice before the car was tuned. Once the PFC was on....no probs. My down pipe was the greddy job. I would be very careful driving aggresively with out tuning,

Im sure you are aware of the penalties for running a mid pipe with no Cat? And yes you will experience it as a friend of mine has a S8 with a full system BUT with mega flow cat and he cannot control the boost even with a controller. He was forced to put in a restricter plate just after the dump pipe to control it so I'm sure you will have similar issues.

Well, I know for a fact that the series 8 with a Dump pipe with no mid pipe will not over boost but Im unsure about the straight mid... Well I have also been told that with the ECU I have planned for the car, I should probably not Rev the car hard with full exhaust until its installed and tuned. I know that you can stop it over boosting with a ECU some modifications to the wastegate throw lengths which I will also be doing as I plan to run the standard sequentials...Its good to know the RX7 Mechanic that built all the Winning Targa RX7's and helped RE-Amemiya build reliability into their cars

Note: Finally I know someone here "one600" its your other buddy with a white series 8 :oD I am sure you know who it is LOL
