Cali. ECU vs. Non Cali.

I just want to know if the Tuned ecu that was on cali car will work on non cali. car? I live in Missouri and i'm about to buy tuned ecu by XS that was on Californian FD. I Just want to be sure that i won't have check engine light or something like that and that everything will work fine.

If anyone has answer, please reply.

Thanks

I believe that a cali-ecu will light up the check engine light on a non-cali car. The reverse situation will work, however, not sure about the emissions element. Damn smog *****....
