That's why you gotta get well connected. Get some connections in the smog industry. I have connections with a test only station for cheap (less than $300 , I get it for less than $150 but others pay like $200+) and gaurenteed any car passes no matter what it has on it......so yeah and it all gets legit papers and all.

Well, that's a good idea and all but the CARB board is not regulated in any way, except for the occasional clamp-down by the federal government and/or auto industry. CARB is appointed, not voted in. This is one of the many problems with the out-of-control government in this state.

1) Either the car is not registered (non-op) and is used strictly as a track/race car, or 2) they have a smog hookup - they run another car during the test in lieu of their own or bypass everything. (Quite illegal, BTW.)

Not true. Caught speeding or street racing, yes, but you get fix-it tickets and/or smog referee referrals if you have illegal mods which affect smog.

Might want to use the PM feature of this forum or the West forum for questions like that...

What I meant is that you're resurrecting a somewhat old thread, and that it might be easier for you to PM the person instead or start a thread in the West forum section, because a.)the person may not be checking out the 3rd Gen forum anymore, or b.) there might be a person browsing the West forum who could better help you.
