A/C compressor removal

i have decided to remove my a/c compressor, what do i need to do as far as the belt goes. cani get a shorter belt and if so what size. a friend thought about making an ideler pulley so i could just use a stock size belt. what is the best plan for this. any one's help would be very appreciated.

Banzi-Racing has a belt that will fit a stock main drive and a stock size p/s pulley, I'd do that over an idler pulley just because any more open room in the engine bay is a good thing.
