Buying a wrecked rx-7?
I just got off the phone with this guy who has a rx-7 for sell.
Its a 93 model with about 55000 miles, some reliability mods, it pass smog and compression test. Though, he said its been wrecked when he bought it, but only the front bumper was damaged. It could be sold at $13000, and if front bumper was the only thing been repair, wouldn’t that be a good deal.
I wonder if that’s possible, also he wont give me the Vin number so I can run it through carfax.
I don’t want a car that’s been in a serious accident, but in this case, what are my options, should I move on?

It obviously does have a slavage title, or something worse, if the owner wont give out the VIN number. However, i bought, and still own, a 93 touring with a salvage title. I have had no regrets. I got it at a great price and it has given me NO problems. But, it probably all depends on who rebuilt it. If the carr looks good, dont let the salvage title, alone, scare you off. It may be worth it. It may not. Good luck man.

Now since the owner won't give you the VIN, then that makes me concerned.

Here is a couple pics of my car when I got it. I paid 4500 bucks for it as seen in the pics. Cost me about another 4k to fix it right. I don't have any pics of the finish product waiting on the next nice day.

Blow up or win
No VIN? There is some larceny going on here.......guaranteed. Maybe stolen - whatever.
You MUST have the VIN, no matter what!
Buyer - REALLY beware.
The only person that could give you an accurate estimate of what the vehicle is worth is a rotary expert who has a reputable shop NOT located near where the car is. Unfortunately that inspection alone, if done properly, is going to set you back a couple of hundred bucks easily.
If you do get an estimate of the vehicles worth, cut it in half, walk up to the guy with crisp $100 bills and wave it in his face. He'll take it. If not, stick it back in your pocket, walk away and find another FD3S.
