Lightbulb Buying a Spirit R

Hey, after a few years of talking about it my mum is going out to buy an Rx7 again, shes got her heart set on a type B Spirit R. Shes going to look at one over east that looks in pretty good nick. But im just wondering if theres anything specific that you should be looking for when buying?

Ive heard talk about around 90k kms is when things start needing to be replaced or rebuilt, true?

Read the stickies at the top of the page. Plenty of links there to what you should look for. Prepared to be flamed for asking a question that has been asked 1000+ times. =)

90,000km is only roughly 54,000 miles. If it was maintained with any sort of decency it will not need to be rebuilt for much longer. Make sure its actually an authentic spirit-r, their should be a commemorative spirit-r plate on the firewall in the engine bay. I could go on and on, but all the information you need is within this forum.

If you're chasing info on Spirit R's (or any other 99+ FD), then drop on in to www.FDRX7.com

Amongst the hundreds of S8 owners on the site we have around 20 that drive Spirit R's.

I have the info on every Spirit R made...colour, type, VIN, build date, etc.

Don't forget to tell them I sent you

Cheers,

Gomez

Arrived earlier on in the year, imported from Japan with 40k on the clock. Really is a credit to the previous owner because it is in a great condition, really well looked after. Sticks to the road really nicely and is a weapon when you give it some, first time ive driven a turbo rotary and im jealous as.

Some S-Rs come with the carbon/kevlar Recaros, some come with red leather seats.

Also, guys please DO NOT quote posts with a million pictures when replying. Thanks.

Only type A came with the recaros, the car will occasionally be used for long distances so it was decided to go for a type B.

I've driven 1700+ miles (almost 3000 km) in 5 days in my S-R Recaros each of the last four years for the DGRR event, and I'm gearing up for a 5th time. They're super comfy
