Tomorrow i'm buying a 94 fd.... It has a new engine with 1k miles on it. Its been street ported and has the ceramic apex seals in it. It also has a apexi power fc and commander...It has been to the rx7 store for the break in tuning on the engine....so its running rich. When the car gets hot if you turn it off it doesn't want to start back up right away....is this something that will be fixed once it goes back to the rx7 store for more tuning? Also when you turn the air conditioning on sometimes the car will die at idle? Any help or advice would be great. thanks

 

The alternator could be the reason the car is dieing when you turn the a/c on...Better yet just check the whole chargeing system, battery, wires, alt, ground, etc, etc...This will most likely fix the idle problem...

 

Make them fix everything before you buy it.

 

mine dies at idle sometimes...i have a lightweight flywheel and im thinking when the idle is really low at 600rpms or so in the hot weather with the radiator fans on and the stero on, the shock of turning on the a/c sometimes stalls the car...i believe its partially a ground issue because when i flog the idle lightly the car revs up and then tips below idle and recovers but I also think its related to the lightweight flywheel making the car easier to bog down and stall
