Building a custom FD dashboard: hints and tips

I'm building a completely custom dashboard in my drift-spec RX-7 FD. Is there anyone out there that has some hints and tips for a successfully installation? Photos for inspiration would be alright :-)

Mad Mike's setup looks pretty sweet: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EiJdJFrVuhs

i am doing it to mine and takes a while if you do it right. i learned all this through the military and with my degree i am getting

i am using my original dash:
- put a light coat of Vaseline
- make a mold with fiberglass
- use that mold to vacuum infuse your own carbon fiber dash

bingo!

(pics coming soon)

Check out this awesome forum: Fiberglass Forums

It is a great forum that details all kinds of fiberglass projects: Auto, audio, misc and many people have posted their dash builds on there.

Also, this forum: Racing Composites

This site caters more to "professionals" and industry insiders. LOTS of useful tips and hints and demos on there, mostly carbon fiber related.

If I'm not browsing the RX7club forums, odds are you can find me on one of those two sites!

If you want to keep your dash looking closer to stock? AtomicRex ltd. in the uk made a nice one out of Carbon fiber.
