Angry bugger!! who knows P/S pump pulleys!! EMERGENCY!!

well the newbie rebuild has hit a snag!
my power steering pulley pump nut is WAY overtightened.

so over tight in fact that it split the pulley... then using vice grips we stripped the pulley of all grip... now we don't know what the hell to do other than drill it out!

any ideas? we can't get any grip on the pully and it just turns... the end goal is to get the engine out for rebuild, this obviously complicates things though!

ideas? ideas? ideas!?

put the belt back on, overtighten it alot, and put your car in gear with the e-brake on. Use an impact (or hit a wrench with a hammer)on the nut. If you dont like the belt idea, use a strap wrench...like you would use on an oil filter.

break the pulley ,it's plastic, they're cheap to replace (most people will give you one for shipping)

Plastic?!? I've got a chip in mine. It most certainly isn't plastic.
