Anyone know the part number for the driver's side sway bar mount. I think it may be called a stabilizer bar by mazda or in the service manual or what have you.

is mazdaformance.com the best place to get one? Any chance the one i have is repairable with some welding or machining?

You might want to consider some beefier aftermarket ones from M2, FEED and others. The stock ones are pretty cheesy.

Ummmm... i to broke(in a wreck) my mount rf...As i decided to upgrade... Eibach spring/Billstiens/HKS sway bers.... I found some exceptional mount available from dbreslau@mit.edu Yikes!! Beautiful mounts for the front sway bar as well as changing the geometry for no binding on jounce and rebound...Way safer to drive.. Sugest you research these and see if you would want to go that direction... "Widefoot Mounts" Carter

is it a lot more difficult bolting your sway bars back on with the beefier mounts? i ask because i would imagine them being a whole lot stiffer, allowing way less slack than the stockers...

by the way, cartervs, how much did those mounts run you, and where did you find the contact info for this guys product from? i am curious because it sounds to be a worthwhile investment.

David has been making rx-7 parts for a while now, all under the "Widefoot" branding. He used to sell his stuff thru Crooked willow but since duane has decided to shut down for a while david is taking his own orders. Here is an email to the list regarding the mounts...

" Yes, the Widefoot Swaybar Mounts (WSM) are still
available, and ready for shipping. While I'm no longer
directly affiliated with Crooked Willow, all of the Widefoot
line (pedal adapters, brake ducts, and more) is in production,
and Widefoot Racing Co is getting close to opening in a
6,000 sf building in New Hampshire. I still have to get the
widefootracing.com website up, real soon now...

The swaybar mounts are $285/set, plus $10 USPS Priority
shipping, with tracking number. The mounts are not cheap,
but they offer a combination of benefits that no others do:

*Raises the swaybar above the road more than 1.25" over
stock mounts - helps to prevent damage due to debris on
the road, or from off-road "excursions".

*Build-in stabilizer clamp to stop the rocking associated
with metal fatigue and failure of both stock mounts and
the frame section they mount to. No need for additional
struts or braces.

*Much stiffer than stock mounts for longer life and better
response.

*Works with all stock-mount radiators, custom radiator
plates are available.

*Very well made (ask those who own them ;-).
