Broken Solenioid nipple

Broken at the double throttle solenoid. Came off with little pressure while changing the check valve.

Can I just put a vacume cap at the fitting just below the manifold getting rid of the check valve? I Assume that would eliminate the DT. Should I worry about the open hole at the solenoid where the fittng came off?

Had a hose job done a while ago.

Trying to avoid taking half the engine apart,

You can cap it, BUT you WILL need to wire tie the flap open.

But if you are going to eliminate it, might as well take the UIM off and remove the flaps.

10000+ post, get real! How did you hack that? I have over 3000 but two server crashes/hacks has reset mine back to 1000 twice.

The vacuum secondary valve has a normal open position
and is keep close by the vacuum. Thus it does not need to be wired opened.

What about the open "hole" where the nipple was on the solenoid? Can I leave it with out problems?

THanks for the insight

Don't have to wire it open. It has a spring that holds it open; it takes vacuum to shut it. So if you have no vac going to the doublethrottle your doublethrottle is open at all times.

If it will leak any air, then seal it off somewhere.

We expect you do do some research with the Mazda manual and learn how that the DT control system works, and thus learn how to bypass it.

Crew,

I'm not concerned about eliminating the DT system, my only concern is having a leak at the broken fitting at the solenoid. Will this cause problems.

You sound like a huffy 6th grade teacher when you mention things like expect , research and learn. And who is "We" anyway?

take the solenoid out of there, just cap off whatever lines are leading to it, one should be vacuum and one should be dt actuation. jb weld the nipple back onto the solenoid and keep it in case you break one of the important solenoids (turbo).

"We" are the ones who know and can learn most things on our own because "WE" are not lazy.

Only if "WE" can not find the answer in a manual or web search do "WE" ask the groups for help.

Evidently you are not part of "WE".
