Bring A Trailer and selling a Modified FD..thoughts?

After nearly 20 of owning my FD I have touched every part improving it so to sell it on a site like B.A.T. has a national presence and appeals to a lot of gear heads that would represent our cars to the folks who want it and have the $$$.

So anyone have any experiences selling on BAT ? not necessarily with a FD but something in that vein ?

I read mostly good reviews, the negative ones talk about BAT,s motivation to sell the car at a lower price to evoke their fee?

(Of course I will post the car for sale on 7 Club,)

No personal experience other than following auctions regularly.

I plan on listing my modified FD there next year when it’s USA import eligible. I know you can negotiate a reserve with them so then you would have nothing to lose.

FaceBook, AutoTrader etc seem to be full of low ballers in my experience. BAT has tonnes of exposure and seems to be a sellers market. I have yet to see a heavily modified FD on there, so I would be super interested to follow your auction!

I have seen modified Supras and an NSX fetch decent money on there on the past year or so.

BAT when it first started had a higher perfecentage of "original or bust" crowd. Through the years, things seem be changing a bit and I have seen modified cars or "resto-mods" getting decent money as well as long as the work is clean, parts are high quality, and the car is no major red flags. The nice thing about BAT is that even if the car doesn't sell on BAT, it gives you exposure and some have gotten sweeter deals offline after the car showed up on BAT.

Good to know thanks.

I think you need to go in with a price and it be prepared to walk if they do not meet it.

Another wrinkle potentially is they get to buy a car for a lower price if it doesn't sell ? that needs looked at sooo..

Someone is interested in seeing my car in the next 2 weeks so we will see if I need to use them,I think I will if it comes to it

I bought an FD in 2017 off Bring a Trailer. It was a good experience. The car was mostly stock.

As a seller, BaT gives you a reserve price, you don't get to set it.

I don't know if you guys are aware, but Doug DeMuro just launched a service similar to BaT called "CarsandBids". Due to his experience monitoring the high end car market over the years, its definitely something I would look into if I ever contemplated selling my FD.
