Brand Spankin' New Tranny

What would be a good price on a Brand New manual transmission? I might be able to get one but if it's too much, I might as well go used in good condition. Thanks.

i really dont think you can get a brand new trans close to the amount a $400 used JDM trans would be. unless you have a "special" hook up we dont know about.

Yea and you can get it from Mazda for a little over that much. Your best bet is a low mileage tranny, but if you really wanna buy a new one, PM me. I MAY be able to beat Mazda Comp's price

Used in good condition is a much better value IMO. Try to get a later-model (94+) one since it will have the updated select spindle, 5th synchro, 2nd synchro/hub, etc.

There was one on EBAY. I was bidding on it but the reserve was higher then I wanted to go. I found a very nice used one in San Diego so i'm good to go. Thanks.

By the way, if anyone is looking for a NEW tranny, the reserve was at $2000 and I still have the contact info for the guy who was selling it. I don't think it sold so it should still be up for sale although he hasn't relisted it yet. PM me if anyone is interested.
