i was about to change my mc on my car but then i saw how dirty the reservoir was inside and wanted to clean it, now my question is can i just clean with can of any brake cleaner or do i have to use alcohol to clean it up from the inside?

I have used carb cleaner with no ill effects .Brake cleaner seems stronger and more flamable .
