Brake Fluid?

Hello,

I recently had my 1993 Mazda RX7 to a dealership and they said the problem with my car was complete engine failure, so I picked it up today and one of the techs told me that I should try putting brake fluid through the spark plug holes as there might be a chance I could get it running. Does anyone know exactly how this is done?

Thanks,

Bill

Gotta LOVE dealerships! If you are going to try and dissolve the carbon buildup on your rotor apices (IFF that is indeed your problem!) use automatic transmission fluid, NOT brake fluid. SEARCH this forum for the ATF treatment. GET a second opinion on the complete engine failure verdict from a competant rotary specialist shop. SEARCH your area specific forum for the best shop near you, or call Jason at the RX7store (look at the advert banner above) and ask him who in the area he'd trust.

THats my $0.02, and that's what it's worth!

Don't put brake fluid in your engine. Typical of some of the urban myth tech advice that floats around.
First you need to be more specific about your problem.
I'm going to assume you mean you have blown one of your water seals. (a blown apex seal is an entirely different problem. )

Some have reported a temporary fix of a coolant seal leak by draining all their coolant....flusing several times..and then putting in Block Seal.

I think it was RonKMiller who did this. Try sending him a personal message through the forum. Don't do anything until you hear from someone who has tried one of these repair measure and swears it has worked for them.

If you look at his other posts on this problem, you see they are saying low compression..

Bill, not to be a PITA, but can you continue similar questions in your old threads? New ones about the same thing just push older ones further down the pile. Not harshing on you, dude, just making request...

Thanks

I took it to a mazda dealer because the car would not start, it would turn over but not start. The tech said the car had been flooded and there was no compression on one roter, he didn't check the other. Then they tried to sell me a new moter. Then today when I picked it up the tech told me about this brake fluid trick. So I thought I would run it past this board.
