Box behind the ecu

I have a 94 manual trans. what is the smaller black box behind the ecu? I looked in the manual and it seems that on auto cars there should be two and one controls the transmission. My mt has one box with two connectors on the writing harness.

However, my real question is which connector do I plug in to my one box? I can't seem to figure it out from the wiring diagram. There is a black and a grey connector, both of which are the same size and fit in the box connector.

I may be wrong, but I think that box has something to do with a cooling fan recall.

I just checked again. The reason I am so confused is that there are two identical looking black connectors. The box is about 2x3x3.

That is likely the fan recall module. Search on my username and "fan recall" I have a big writeup on it. You can ditch that whole system.
