BOV Kit or not?

I plan to weld a BOV to my intercooler piping. Does that mean I don't need the FD specific kit? Should I just get a universal kit and weld the flange onto the pipe? THanks.

well if you plan to weld just buy the valve. I went with the HKS SSQV kit for my nearly stock 94. Worked great

The specific kits are made to work with the stock system with no welding required. If you are going to weld a bov onto upgraded metal piping then any universal bov will work as long as it comes with the flange, if not they are only like $10-$15. Some come with metal or alluminum flanges so you need to know what kind of pipng you have so the weld will match up.
